BlackBerry WebWorks SDK for Tablet OS 2.2

BlackBerry WebWorks SDK for Tablet OS is Research In Motion’s development kit for building BlackBerry PlayBook applications using standard web technologies—HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript—and packaging them as installable, signed BAR apps. It provides a WebKit-based runtime and a set of JavaScript APIs so web apps can access device capabilities and feel native on the PlayBook’s QNX-based Tablet OS.

Key features:

• JavaScript access to device features such as file system, network, sensors (accelerometer, compass), geolocation, camera, and notifications
• HTML5 support for touch, multimedia, and offline/storage APIs
• Config-driven app model (config.xml) for metadata, permissions, and startup behavior

• Support for the Ripple emulator and on-device debugging
